It's a busy sailing weekend for the Stanley Yachts crew ... busy
watching sailing, that is. As you know, the final leg of the
Volvo Ocean Race is underway and we're spellbound (especially with our
favorite boat in the lead). The finish in Gothenburg is so close - less than 400 nautical miles for
Team Alvimedica - with some major tactical decisions to be made around traffic separation zones ahead. So we're on pins and needles, hoping they capitalize on (and maintain) the lead they docked with at the pit stop.

As if that's not enough excitement, we're also tracking the biennial classic
Marion Bermuda Race. And, of course, we have a favorite - a custom 48-foot Alden, skippered by George Denny. Go
Restive!
This year's 645 mile race to Bermuda could get particularly interesting later in the weekend when the remnants of
Tropical Depression Bill could "enhance" conditions with up to 30-knot winds and 10-foot seas. That said, we'll be paying close attention.

So, anyway, excuse us if we're a little distracted for the remainder of the weekend. We're sitting (at the dock) in our wheelhouse, munching on popcorn and cheering on all the sailing souls!
