If you make a living in our industry, no doubt you've heard the complaints from land commuters: "The boats keep making the bridges go up and we get stuck in traffic jams." Indeed, we've seen entire online forums dedicated to pointing fingers at the "Big Bad Boaters Who Tie Up Traffic". And, yes, it gets frustrating trying to explain that not all of us are joyriding on the waterways; many, if not most, of us, are requesting those pesky bridge openings because it's how we make a living and bring a thriving livelihood to South Florida.
